Woman and author Kris Sinclair

Well, Hello There!

I'm Kris Sinclair.
Author. Creator. Professional Rabbit Hole Explorer.

Somewhere along the way, I discovered that one pen name, one genre, and one creative project were never going to be enough for me.

These days, I write under four different pen names, help other authors bring their stories to life, and run Inked Faerie Press with my husband.

I have a habit of following creative ideas wherever they lead, which explains why my to-do list keeps growing and why I occasionally forget what I was supposed to be doing in the first place.

Welcome to my little corner of the creative universe!

Break Everything. Build what remains.

When Words Failed Me, I Wrote.

There was a time when I wasn't sure I'd ever get back to the person I used to be.

After surviving meningitis, I had to relearn things most of us never think twice about. Walking. Talking. Finding the words to express what was going on inside my head.

There were days when I wondered whether I'd ever feel like myself again. Days when the simplest things seemed impossibly far away.

But something remarkable happened along the way.

Even when words failed me, I could still write.

Writing gave me a way to express myself when speaking wasn't easy. It gave me something to hold on to when so much of my life felt uncertain.

And somewhere in that journey, I began to understand something about myself.

I wasn't going to come out of everything I'd experienced as the same person I'd been before.

And maybe I wasn't meant to.

Today, I'm an author, an editor, a publisher, and someone who has more ideas than hours in the day.

But I'm also someone who knows what it feels like to wonder whether the life you imagined is still possible.

There were days when I thought I'd never get here.

But I am here. I am messy. I am complicated. And most of all, I am unashamedly ME.

And I wouldn't trade the woman I've become for the person I thought I was supposed to be back then.

Why I Believe Everyone Has a Story to Tell

I believe everyone has a story worth telling.

Some stories are written in books. Others are written in the choices we make, the challenges we face, and the courage it takes to begin again.

I've learned that life doesn't always give us the story we expected. Sometimes it changes everything without asking our permission.

But I also believe we have a say in what happens next.

That's why I love helping other writers find their voices, develop their ideas, and bring their stories into the world.

Because I know what it feels like to have something inside you that you desperately want to express.

And I know how powerful it can be when you finally find the words.

Your story matters. And so does what you choose to do with it.

Make Something Worth Leaving Behind

I've always believed that everyone has a story worth telling.

Maybe it's a novel you've dreamed about writing for years. Maybe it's a memoir, a collection of poems, or an idea you've been carrying around but haven't quite figured out how to put into words.

Or maybe your story has nothing to do with writing at all.

Maybe it's about finding the courage to begin again. Learning to believe in yourself. Discovering who you are after life has taken you somewhere you never expected to go.

I believe we all have something meaningful to contribute to this world, and I don't believe our circumstances should determine what we're capable of becoming.

That's why I'm so passionate about helping others find their voices, pursue their ideas, and create something they're proud of.

You don't need permission to begin. You don't need to have everything figured out. And you certainly don't need to be perfect.

Heaven knows I certainly haven't figured it all out!

Life is messy. People are complicated. Plans fall apart. Dreams change. Sometimes we have to start over more times than we'd like to admit.

But there's still so much life left to live.

So make something of yourself.

Make a mess. Make mistakes. Make memories.

Make art. Make love. Make stories.

Make someone laugh. Make a difference.

Make peace with what you cannot change, and make room for everything you haven't discovered yet.

Make your own rules. Make your voice heard.

And above all, make a life you're proud to call yours.

Because your story isn't finished.

And whatever chapter you're in right now, I hope you'll keep turning the pages.

Make something worth leaving behind.

One Woman. Four Pen Names. A Whole Lot of Stories.

After surviving meningitis, my brain didn't quite work the way it used to.

It was almost as though the experience had rewired the way I processed the world around me. I began thinking differently, making connections other people didn't always see, and approaching things in ways that didn't necessarily make sense to anyone else.

For a long time, I saw that as a disadvantage.

I struggled to keep up with the way other people thought, learned, and approached everyday challenges. I often felt like I was working twice as hard just to arrive at the same place everyone else seemed to reach so effortlessly.

And then something changed.

I discovered that the very thing I'd spent so much time struggling against could become one of my greatest creative strengths.

I found a place where my mind didn't have to follow anyone else's rules.

Writing gave me the freedom to explore ideas, create entire worlds, invent characters, and follow my imagination wherever it wanted to go.

There was no prescribed way to think, no expectation that I had to arrive at the same conclusions as everyone else, and nobody standing over my shoulder telling me I was doing it wrong.

For the first time, I could simply let my mind do what it did best.

Of course, there's a downside to giving my imagination that much freedom.

It has absolutely NO sense of direction.

One innocent little idea can send me tumbling down a creative rabbit hole that somehow leads to three new book concepts, a business idea, a completely unrelated project, and a to-do list that wasn't nearly this long when I woke up.

But I've learned to embrace that part of myself, too.

What I once considered a disadvantage has become something I genuinely treasure. My mind may take a different route to get somewhere, but I've discovered some pretty incredible things along the way.

What I once wished I could change about myself has become one of the things I love most about who I am.

And somewhere in all that beautiful, unpredictable chaos, a writer was born.

One woman. Four pen names. And a whole lot of incredible stories to tell along the way.

Welcome to The Creative Rabbit Hole!

Four pen names. Four different worlds. One imagination that refuses to behave.

And Last, But Certainly Not Least...

Kris Sinclair

Author | Editor | Creative Entrepreneur | Professional Rabbit Hole Explorer

And then there's just... me.

The woman attempting to keep all these fictional personalities organized while simultaneously running Inked Faerie Press, helping other writers bring their stories to life, and chasing whatever creative idea happens to wander through my brain!

I'm the one who believes everyone has a story worth telling, creativity shouldn't come with a rulebook, and sometimes the best things in life happen when you throw the original plan out the window.

I write, edit, create, brainstorm, and occasionally convince myself that starting another project is a perfectly reasonable thing to do. At 11 p.m. On a weeknight.

Spoiler alert: It usually isn't.

But I wouldn't have it any other way.
